What is a landscape project?

A landscape project is not just drawings and diagrams. It's a garden idea, formalized into a precise system of solutions. It combines aesthetics and engineering, helps avoid accidents, and embodies the character of the site through architecture, terrain, green scenarios, and light.

Each project begins with questions: how should this garden sound? Where will there be silence? What will become the center of attraction? We consider not only soils and drainage, but also sensations — comfort, privacy, connection with home and with yourself.

Landscape design is the first step to a garden that will become an extension of you. It's an investment in the feeling of home not only inside, but also outside.

Stages of landscape design from L.BURO studio

1. Conceptual project

A conceptual project is the search for an idea. We come to the site, observe how it sounds, how light falls, how wind moves, study the historical context and surroundings. We listen to you to understand what kind of garden you need. Not just beautiful — but suitable in spirit, rhythm of life, character, organically fitting into the environment around.

This stage is about meanings. We form the image of the garden, its composition and structure: where there will be silence, where the sun, where you will drink morning coffee and recharge. Based on this, the visual part and planning sketches are born — the first outlines of the future space.

2. Detailed project

When the idea is formalized, we move to the detailed project of your garden. We prepare a set of drawings, diagrams and specifications: from drainage and lighting to planting plan and visualization of small architectural forms.

This stage is about preparing for garden creation. It helps make implementation predictable, avoid mistakes and save time and money. This is a navigator with which you can work both with our team and with any other contractors.

3. Turnkey garden creation

When the project is ready, implementation begins. We hand over the project to contractors and accompany each stage: control compliance of implementation with the project concept, quality of construction work and technical solutions, adapt the solution to new circumstances during construction. For this, we regularly visit the site. This is called author's supervision.

At this stage, the project ideas become a living garden. The garden begins to breathe: relief appears, plants are planted, water sounds. We don't take on the functions of a construction team — we remain garden architects so that it is born as conceived.

Landscape project composition

Stage conceptual project

Concept creation and drawing development from 8 weeks
Area from 25 acres
Result Conceptual garden plan with 3D visualizations in PDF and printed form
Includes development of planning and artistic solutions, design of engineering sections, as well as preparation of documentation for garden creation.

Visualization of your dream begins with a deep and detailed interview with you and your family members.
  • Who are the main garden users?
  • Your main pastime in the garden: do you like to receive guests or is the garden only your territory?
  • In what state do you want to be while walking in the garden?
  • What picture do you want to see around?
Answers to these questions, together with detailed site analysis, become the basis for creating a concept.

Stage detailed project

Detailed project development from 9 weeks
Area from 25 acres
Result Album with detailed drawings and diagrams of the entire site
An ambitious project cannot be completed without good documentation. A detailed project is the path from sketches and concepts that became the result of stage 1, to your dream garden.

Such solutions as plant variety selection, automatic watering equipment, drawing of paving nodes and joints — all this is part of the detailed project. At L.BURO, we carefully think through solutions and nodes so that during garden implementation we don't waste time searching for solutions, but focus on quality landscape.

Landscape design cost

Every garden is unique — like the character of its owner, with its own historical context and life scenarios of the client's family. The cost of design depends on the site area, terrain complexity and chosen concept. We don't work by template — only individual approach and transparent estimate after getting acquainted with the task.

Stages of landscape design from L.BURO studio

01
One-stop service L.BURO implementation team — project manager, construction supervisor, engineer, drafting architect, dendrologist.

At the same time, you communicate only with the project manager, who informs about work stages, coordinates changes, schedules regular meetings with specialized specialists.
02
Result responsibility We take on all communication, coordination and control of contractors: light, gas, water, automatic watering, greenhouses, construction, video surveillance, landscaping, etc.

Our responsibility also includes related work — electrical, fencing, gazebos, etc.
03
Clear project progress Before garden construction, we prepare a detailed production plan with dates. Thanks to this, you always understand at what point in landscape creation you are.

About L.BURO landscape design studio

Where silence takes shape and emotions find space. What do you want to feel in your garden? Calm? Freedom? Inspiration? For us, a garden is not just a territory with paths and plants. It's a place of internal reboot, a space where you can slow down, tune into yourself and remember how pleasant it is to simply live.

We create gardens with character — and with care for human condition. Our signature style — Scandinavian Gardens® — combines northern resilience and Petersburg sophistication. This is thoughtful geometry, lots of air, natural simplicity, where there is room for both privacy and impressions.

If you're close to the northern spirit, low maintenance, aesthetics built into architecture, and you want the garden to become an extension of your life rhythm — we will definitely find a common language with you.

Frequently asked questions about landscape design

Why do you need a landscape project?
Accordion
A landscape project is the foundation of a future garden. It helps avoid spontaneous decisions, save resources and create not just beautiful, but holistic, living and comfortable space with guaranteed estimate. This is a map by which you can confidently move from idea to implementation, without losing meaning at each stage.
What documents do you receive as a result?
Accordion
You receive a complete set of project documentation: plans, diagrams, 3D visualizations, planting statements, specifications. Everything is formatted in a convenient PDF file and in printed version — this is a detailed navigator for the future garden that you can use independently or hand over to a contractor.
Is 3D site visualization included in the service?
Accordion
Yes, within the conceptual project we prepare technical 3D visualizations of key site zones. This helps see how the main garden elements will look, evaluate the atmosphere and make adjustments before implementation begins.
What affects design timelines?
Accordion
Timelines depend on site area, terrain complexity, number of functional zones, as well as on client feedback speed. On average, a project takes 8 weeks. We work thoughtfully, without haste, so that the result is thoughtful and durable.
What does landscape design cost depend on?
Accordion
Project cost is formed individually and depends on site area, terrain features, number of functional zones, engineering tasks and client feedback speed on given questions during design. We don't offer template solutions — only personal approach and accurate cost after getting acquainted with your site and task.
Can we see your gardens as examples of work?
Accordion
Yes, we can organize an individual visit to our implemented gardens. Such meetings are possible by prior arrangement and after obtaining permission from garden owners.
Do you give warranty on work and plants?
Accordion
We give warranty on work and plants. Warranty period is 1 year or 2 years depending on the contract.
