The natural, almost illegible shape of the sprawling greenery is breathtakingly beautiful. The strict descents’ geometry forms structure. In this garden, the one has certain movements, thoughts that are free from fuss, and enough time.
In Karelian Isthmus, there is the Mednoe (Copper) Lake surrounded by dense forests. This place will be chosen by one who knows own power. That’s what the master of the big house turned out to be. He contacted us for a legend: an impressive powerful garden.
The significant height difference (almost three meters) on the plot forced everything to fit into its proper place during the concept drafting. The garden was expecting our large-scale paintings.
The junipers spread out across the center of the plot. The rare plants were transported from a large European nursery, where they had been raised for decades. Their dense greenery naturally overlaps the trail that runs from the house to the forested area. The descending is decorated with stone slabs of volcanic gabbro alternated with wooden terraced decks. The descending is captivating at dusk because of the offset planes and lighting, which give the impression that the stairs are floating here.
In addition to the quieter areas, the masters and their visitors can enjoy the extroverted sections of the garden, which include a summer house, sun loungers, and an outdoor kitchen. Hedgerows on the plot and surrounding the perimeter define boundaries.
The Northern Garden looks to be a longtime resident with a story to tell you. Endlessly engaging. Every time you return, it rewards you with new feelings and a richer sensory experience. With listening to tales of stones told by Karelian boulders as tall as a man. With finding treasures — blueberries and cranberries — in the shade. Enjoy the silence between the tall pines, nestled in the patio where fire meets water.
