Every day we seek refuge from the chaos of others' emotions and information. The garden protects and heals us through changing colors and states. And then the joy of life returns to us: reading, gathering people together, admiring the world.
A Scandinavian garden is free in both idea and implementation, which allows it to be individual. It tells a story and preserves family values, like this project in Repino.

The owner brought something very personal to the space — an artifact. For seven years, he was involved in the restoration and reorganization of the «New Holland» island and dreamed of using ship timber found during excavations in the landscape. From dried, beautiful in their imperfection, water-aged larch boards, we created a floating path. For him and for us, this manifested respect for creative work and love for one's craft.

The family has many children, and as we know, children love playing with water. Continuing the island theme, we created a minimalist pond. The solution came from the original architecture that combined the Russian feeling for wood with the cubic forms of Bauhaus, as well as the atypical ‹placement› of buildings on the plot.

The talented Horomystudio team built four buildings for the large family: main and guest houses in mirror reflection, a bathhouse, and a garage. They were placed at the corners of the square plot. Inside, an Italian courtyard was formed, where we created three different moods.

We created connections between the buildings, but hid the paths along the edges. The center was boldly given to a rectangular lawn. Along the boundaries between the houses, we created a contemplative Karelian zone: in front of the green gazebo, we arranged a pond that can be crossed via several tiles. The geometry was softened by a cloud of grasses and cereals. The hearth was arranged near the summer dining area by the bath house, framing it with conifers.
