The English have an expression «be overdressed» — to be excessively fancy, inappropriate for the place and situation. Many gardens become «overdressed» through the good efforts of their owners. Forest ½ is definitely not among them. The plot is unusual — with two houses and tall pine trees. We decided to continue this trend and connected two forests into one.
To play with the precious forest area, we concentrated all the buildings. The plot was divided into two parts. One was left untouched, overgrown with moss, blueberries, and lingonberries. The second was cleared and we created islands — forest meadows and lawn with micro-clover. It's pleasant to stroll between them, for adults to reflect and for children to run freely and gather berries.
The trees in this garden show their individuality, and they don't need decorations. Semi-shade understory plants make the forest fantastic. Thus, restraint helps to escape from the hustle and bustle of the plot, to get a concise but delightful view.
The geometry of the large lawn was determined by the clients — its parameters correspond to a professional badminton court. In this sunny area, the lounge chairs for the winners also feel great when the match is over. And afterward, the players can disperse to their homes, which are discreetly hidden from each other by a hill with Karelian stones, grasses, and pines in the center.
