It requires courage to get rid of the superfluous if you want to reach balance. We proceed similarly when creating a signature garden for a particular family. The value of the country lifestyle is the personal comfort. However, if all the trees in your plot are pines, then the forest that makes the rules, not you. That was also the case with this plot.
First, we free the area of the trees in the middle of the future garden. The comfortable open lawn supports a nice airy mid-distance view when you are looking at the garden from the house. This space invites you to start a new day smoothly by walking through the dew in the morning, or in the afternoon enjoying a book and some lemonade while lounging in the sun.
Around the lawn, we planted a middle canopy of perennials and graminaceous plants falling in soft waves on the green grass. Behind them, we left a vertical dense forest carefully preserving most of the cover between the trees.
In terms of composition, the garden is tailed by a summer house with a corner terrace — they ornament the plot on two sides. Customers often host large companies, the main cottage is small — about 100 square meters, so the second building contributed to coziness and utility. The little house has a living room with a library, kitchen, an outdoor hearth area, and couches shaded under a canopy.
Wherever the house masters and their guests settle to unwind, they are surrounded by dense flower beds with flowing shapes that soothe the eye with a cool palette of greens and purples. All those keeping with the best traditions of the Scandinavian garden (with a capital letter). Naturally, as it should, a path emerges from the shadows in the woods into the light, leading to a little field that extends beyond the garden.
