Ingmar Bergman found his landscape on the island of Fårö. The owner of our garden was born in the Far East, and the landscape that enhances him is a wild forest, foggy, where air thickens, and it seems that a large beast is about to peek out from behind trees and ferns.
We were interested in following the client's clear inner knowledge: creating not one but two gardens — for family and for friends. After all, if you are a player of a well-known football club, then the house and garden should have the potential to host a team of guests.
The Far Eastern vibe on the site was created by gnarled pines, dwarf cedar, juniper hills, and large rowan trees. We arranged them so that the landscape looked untamed, even planting groundcovers with slight asymmetry. And in the end, we got the feeling of a piece of natural forest.
We «cut» the territory in the middle with a picturesque hill with a flower garden, which gave two private areas, as the owner wanted. The family, along with grandma and children, spends time on the terrace, playground, or on the meadow around a picturesque pond with irises and water lilies. At the same time, an adult company can freely relax by the pool nearby. In the adult area, we couldn't resist playing: we connected rainwater collection with a special well, at the bottom of which we placed a bottle of expensive whiskey. The prize goes to attentive rain lovers — the bottle rises with the water level when it rains heavily.
We enhanced the privacy of private life by raising the perimeter of the site with a hill and planting five-meter thujas. As a second belt, we used a green mélange of pines, cedars, spruces, and firs.
