The role of contemporary humans within a historical context is an issue we addressed in a Scandinavian manner in a genuinely Russian tea house project in Suzdal.
Vadim Dymov, well-known for ceramics workshops, had bought the residential house between the two churches in the center of Suzdal. Our client appreciates a modern approach to architecture. For him, as for us, the landscape is one of the languages in which a story can be told.
Sitting in the garden and enjoying a cup of tea helps one forget about the outside world. You can take your time, be a little withdrawn, and handle your emotions. Under the cover of junipers and ferns and amid the comforting scents of fire, honey, and herbs, just like your ancestors did, you can unwind in the yard designed especially for a special Tea House.
We included aspects of temple architecture in the decoration and stylized the lighting fixtures as domes to establish a connection with the courtyard’s urban setting. But this work by skilled cabinetmakers is extremely delicate and refined.
The yard is thoughtfully designed for different companies. The alcoves will be comfortable for those who pop in for a while. Low armchairs under the sky suit for long tea parties, reading, and conversation. The large table is comfortable for sitting around the samovar.
For the ceremonial tea party, we’ve designed a garden room with a round table serving 6 to 8 guests, with a gorgeous linden tree in the middle. Woodland plants with northern character will hide this area away. Tall pines and other conifers, a middle canopy of junipers and ferns, as well as decorative soft mosses, are in charge of the Scandinavian landscape here.
You easily fall in love with Scandinavian gardens since they honor your inner power and mood. They will not disappoint with scenic spontaneity if you give them a bit more freedom and some time to unwind for yourself.
