The identity of the residential complex through sustainable landscaping, integration of innovative technologies, and landscape design inspired by the Gulf of Finland.
For landscape gardening in the Ranta residential complex, we combined design ideas inspired by nature and the Gulf of Finland shoreline with the resort significance of Zelenogorsk town. We added greenspace with bionic forms, blended it with contemporary landscape solutions, and seasoned it with technologies that make community life more comfortable.
For us, it was crucial to reproduce the local identity. That is, something that helps the local resident to answer the question: “What is the place I live in?” We believe that this is significant, because a lot of housing is being constructed today, but not all of it is made with care, love, and its own distinctive features. Finding such subtle details, incorporating them into the concept of the Scandinavian garden® — that was our great challenge.
The concept’s central element is the line silhouette, which resembles a wave coming into the residential complex from the Gulf of Finland. In this manner, you obtain a flowing framework without sacrificing any functional usability. Each block unit is accessible by a vehicle, and the premises locate a concert stage, an area for sports and children’s play, a community vegetable garden, an art alley with recreation and barbecue pavilions, and an archway leading to the woods. All these elements are brought together by the delicate and graceful lines mitigating the austerity of the architectural elements. Garden fixtures are chosen in the style of modern art deco with an eye toward the ideas of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and strive for Scandinavian minimalism, which is essential here. Innovative technologies include heated benches and infrared lamps to heat special areas.
A rare feature for developers implemented in this complex is the provision of sustainable landscaping, or so-called sustainable green, which reduces the need for human handling and care in landscape gardening.
